Cricket experts and fans questioned Team India’s credibility after their performance in the first innings against England in the third Test. Indian batters hardly stood a chance against the fierce England bowling attack as they kept losing wickets like a pack of cards.

With subtle bowling variations of good line and length, the English seamers bundled Team India out for 78 in the first innings. Rohit Sharma top-scored with 19 while Ajinkya Rahane scored 18 runs. James Anderson and Craig Overton enjoyed bowling against the Indian batters.

Both the pacers took three wickets apiece while Ollie Robinson and Sam Curran took 2 wickets each respectively. England posted 432 in the first innings. Joe Root top-scored with 121. He bludgeoned the innings with the help of 14 boundaries.

Apart from him, Dawid Malan played well for his 70 runs. Haseeb Hameed and Rory Burns provided a rock-solid 134-run partnership for the first wicket. Hameed and Burns scored 68 and 61. On the contrary, Mohammed Shami succeeded in taking four wickets.

Team India might have let England dictate terms in the first innings. However, the visitors showed why they are the world-class team in the second innings. With conditions suited to England seamers, India found support in the likes of Rohit Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli.

Rohit Sharma scored 59 runs with the help of 7 fours and a six. The 34-year-old veteran added an 84-run stand with Cheteshwar Pujara for the second wicket. He fell prey to Robinson’s bowling for a leg before wicket dismissal.

However, Pujara and Virat Kohli added a 99-run stand for the third wicket as India ended Day 3 with 215/2. Pujara scored an unbeaten 91 including 15 fours while Kohli scored 45. Following India’s gritty display on Day 3, Ashwin sent a message for Jarvo.

“Today’s play was as good as it can get with @ImRo45 @cheteshwar1 @imVkohli and Jaarvo showing great intent and grit! Keep going fellas and stop doing this Jaarvo. #IndvsEng,” Ravichandran Ashwin wrote.

Meanwhile, Jarvo who intruded the ground as India’s no.4 batsman on Day 3 also took to Twitter and wrote: “Yes, it was me again aka Jarvo aka Jarvo69 at England vs India in the Test Cricket Match, in Leeds Full video will be on my YouTube channel very soon,” said Jarvis.
