Indian captain Virat Kohli had earlier said that he will call Ravichandran Ashwin a “legend” after he takes his 400th Test wicket. The veteran off-spinner went on to dismiss Jofra Archer to accomplish a massive milestone of taking his 400th Test wicket. He also became the second-fastest bowler to achieve this landmark in the 77th game behind Sri Lanka’s Muttiah Muralitharan.

Ravi Ashwin who is the fastest Indian to 400 Test wickets was the talk of the town for his spectacular bowling performance during the third Test match against England at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Tamil Nadu-born cricketer took 29 five-wicket hauls and 7 ten-wicket hauls to his name. His best bowling in innings is 7/59 and his best match bowling figures is 13/140.

Not to forget the fact that he is also a pretty good batsman. In the second Test match against England, Ravi Ashwin scored his fifth Test century while also displaying his bowling masterclass. He was named the man of the match for his all-round performance. Apart from his 5 centuries, he has smashed as many as 11 fifties to his credit.

Ravi Ashwin posts a cryptic tweet

The veteran off-spinner posted a series of cryptic tweets on his official Twitter handle just a day after India comprehensively won the game by 10 wickets in Ahmedabad to take a 2-1 lead in the series. The experienced campaigner chipped in with phrases like “outbound marketing” and “selling of products” as he felt that one should care about playing their game and not care about the external disturbance.

“Products are sold using various marketing strategies and that’s an accepted practice! We now live in an era where ideas are also being sold to us and it’s a classic example of ‘outbound marketing’, however, I would like to add that buying ideas being sold to us is like telling us

“‘you can’t think on your own’ and here we will teach you how to think and also help you think the way we want you to think. After having played the game at this level for a decade, I can safely say that ‘As long as we are going to buy it, they will shove it down our throat’,” the 34-year-old tweeted.

“Finally. We can always have and stand by our opinions even if it’s against the majority as long as we know that it is our own and not the one that’s been sold to us! ‘The choice is always ours’,” he further added.

Is it an indirect dig at Yuvraj Singh?

Ashwin’s opinions left the cricket fraternity bewildered as they couldn’t crack the code as to what the off-spinner wanted to convey in the first place. Meanwhile, the fans from all across the world are almost convinced that Ravi Ashwin might have taken an indirect dig at Yuvraj Singh for his remarks over the pitch of Ahmedabad.

Well, nobody expected the match to get finished within two days. It was when Yuvraj Singh took to Twitter to take a dig adding that Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh would have easily bagged 800 wickets while playing at Motera Stadium (Narendra Modi Stadium – at present).

“finished in 2 days Not sure if that’s good for test cricket !If @anilkumble1074and @harbhajan_singhbowled on these kind of wickets they would be sitting on a thousand and 800 ?????However congratulations to????????@akshar2026what a spell! congratulations @ashwinravi99@ImIshant????,” Yuvraj Singh tweeted.
