PSL 2023: Babar Azam jokingly scares Hasan Ali with bat while taking run

The 12th match of the ongoing edition of the Pakistan Super League between Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United turned out to be a one-sided fixture. Peshawar Zalmi’s best part came from the opening pair and once they were dismissed, it was so easy for Islamabad United to get back into the game and pulled the strings. As it turned out, Peshawar Zalmi ended up posting 156/8 in their quota of 20 overs.

Peshawar Zalmi skipper Babar Azam was the pick of the batters as he remained unbeaten throughout the end. He steered the team to a pretty decent total. Babar Azam scored a gritty 75 off 58 balls with the help of 7 boundaries and a six. The star cricketer played at a strike rate of 129.31. On the other hand, Hasan Ali was the pick of the bowlers for Islamabad United. He took three wickets to his name.

Peshawar Zalmi’s wicketkeeper-batsman, Mohammad Haris looked good for his quickfire 40 off 21 balls. He composed his innings with the help of four boundaries and a six at a strike rate of 190.48. On the other hand, the likes of Shadab Khan, Mubasir Khan and Raees took a wicket apiece for Islamabad United. In response, Islamabad United chased down the target in 14.5 overs.

Babar Azam and Hasan Ali involve in a hilarious moment

A funny moment featuring Peshawar Zalmi skipper Babar Azam and Islamabad United paceman Hasan Ali has been doing the rounds on social media portals. The video clip begins with Babar Azam hilariously threatening to attack Hasan Ali with the bat for intervening while the former tried to take a single. Babar Azam was approaching the non-striker’s end before Hasan Ali stood in Babar Azam’s way.

Upon seeing Hasan Ali standing standstill, Babar Azam immediately tried to threaten the paceman with the bat. Soon after that, Hasan Ali quickly moved away from Babar Azam as the latter completed a single. The hilarious video clip did leave the cricket fans in splits. Islamabad United won the game by six wickets, courtesy of a brilliant batting display by Rahmanullah Gurbaz who scored 62 off 31 (7 fours, 4 sixes).
