Undoubtedly, Cheteshwar Pujara will be batting at No. 3 for the Men in Blue. He made his return to the side following good performances after being dropped. Recently, he also smashed a century in the County Championship 2023 for Sussex. Hence, he will be expected to play a crucial role in the batting line-up.

At No. 4, India will have their run-machine Virat Kohli batting without a doubt. He has been showing great form ever since returning to the game in the 2022 Asia Cup. He must be high on confidence and motivated to do well with the bat. It will be a big opportunity for him to lift an ICC trophy.

The absence of Shreyas Iyer due to an injury made way for Ajinkya Rahane, who has shown great form in Ranji Trophy and then the ongoing IPL. The team will count on his experience and form to provide solidity at the middle. For the wicketkeeping choice, KS Bharat is likely to get the nod ahead of Ishan Kishan, who made into the squad as a replacement of injured KL Rahul.
