“Not everyone is MS Dhoni” – Twitter reacts as Kolkata Knight Riders choke to lose against Gujarat Titans

Gujarat Titans have done it again. They have won another game in the final moments. However, their bowlers took them home this time. In the 35th game of the IPL 2022, Gujarat Titans were up against Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday. Requiring 18 runs off the final over, Kolkata Knight Riders could only manage 9 runs to lose the match by 8 runs.

Notably, Andre Russell was on the strike during the last over and he also smashed the very first delivery from the countryman Alzarri Joseph for a six. However, Dre Russ could not continue the momentum and got dismissed the very next delivery.

Twitter wasn’t pleased with the big West Indian as they recently witnessed the art of finishing from MS Dhoni. The fans remembered the Indian legend MS Dhoni and his finishing skills while dissing Andre Russell and KKR.

Coming to the match, Gujarat Titans posted a decent total of 156/9 in 20 overs. The skipper Hardik Pandya top-scored for his side with 67 runs off 49 deliveries, while David Miller contributed with vital 27 runs. Tim Southee was the star with the ball for KKR as the Kiwi pacer clinched three wickets for 24 runs in his four overs. Meanwhile, Andre Russell bowled the final over of the Titans’ innings and four wickets.

Chasing the target, Gujarat Titans made it tough for KKR to get going. They were reduced to 108/7 in 15.2 overs. However, Andre Russell was still present at the crease and making the most of the opportunities presented to him. The destructive all-rounder threatened to take the game away for KKR with 48 runs off 25 deliveries. But a splendid catch by Lockie Ferguson in the deep ended all the hopes for two-time champions.

Shreyas Iyer-led KKR have now succumbed to a fourth consecutive defeat to slip to the 7th position in the points table.
