Former Sri Lanka wicketkeeper Kumar Sangakkara had a fun conversation with his fellow countryman and former pacer Lasith Malinga as the duo discussed a variety of topics on Thursday.

Both Sri Lankan legends are currently sharing the dressing room as a part of the Rajasthan Royals staff room. While, Sangakkara is the Director of Cricket, Malinga is serving as the Fast Bowling Coach. The former teammates had a free-wheeling conversation and talked about the greatest bowler of all time, shared their cricketing superstitions, the batters they admired, and everything else.

In between the conversation, Lasith Malinga asked Kumar Sangakkara about the batter he would choose to bat for his life. The left-handed southpaw picked the Indian great Rahul Dravid without hesitation. The right-handed batter was known as ‘the wall’ courtesy of his almost unreachable defence. With 10768 runs in 340 ODIs, Rahul Dravid is the 4th highest run-getter for India in ODIs.

In Tests, he sits one place behind Sachin Tendulkar with 13,625 runs in 163 games, averaging 52.63.

Answering Lasith Malinga’s question that who will he pick to bat for his life, Kumar said, “Rahul Dravid, he’s unbelievable in that role. ‘The Wall’, there is a reason for that name.”

Then Kumar Sangakkara asked Lasith Malinga about his favourite memory with Sachin Tendulkar. To which Malinga replied, “When I played my first IPL season in 2009 in South Africa, I got the first wicket on my second ball, caught in the slips by Sachin. This is my most memorable moment with the man.”
