Kaun Banega Crorepati is one of the most popular shows in India. KBC is an Indian Hindi-language television game show. In fact, the game show is an official Hindi adaptation of the “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” franchise.
Bollywood’s finest and legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan has been the host of the show since its inception barring the third season, which was presented by another great actor Shah Rukh Khan. The TV programme hogged the limelight when it was broadcasted on Star Plus for its first three seasons from 2000 to 2007.
Since 2010, it has been telecasted on Sony Entertainment Television and was produced by BIG Synergy from season 1 till season 10. Later on, the credited production companies co-producing are Studio NEXT since the tenth season and Tree of Knowledge (Digi TOK) since the eleventh season respectively.
KBC contestants are asked multiple-choice questions. The contestant must choose the correct answer from four possible choices. The contestant is also provided with lifelines that may be used if they are not sure of the answer. Since the seventh season in 2013, the top prize has been ₹7 crores (70,000,000 rupees).
