IPL 2025: Predicted XI of Gujarat Titans (GT) for the season

Gujarat Titans made their entry into the Indian Premier League in 2022 season in their debut season they surprised the opponents by dominating them with relative ease. In the process, they made it all the way to the finals of the competition and defeated Rajasthan Royals in the showdown to claim their maiden title.

They managed to achieve the feat under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya. The Ahmedabad-based franchise continued the rich form into the IPL 2023 season by braving the odds and making it to the finals for the second consecutive time. Unfortunately, they surrendered at the hands of Chennai super Kings in the final.

However, the tables turned in the 2024 season where they failed to bring the best out of themselves. Under the captaincy of Shubman Gill, they finished eighth on the points table. Gujarat Titans won 5 games and lost the remaining 7 games before they failed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time in their journey.

The One time IPL champions retained Rashid Khan, Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan, Shahrukh Khan and Rahul Tewatia ahead of the IPL 2025 auction. Openers: Shubman Gill (c), Jos Buttler

Gujarat Titans’ captain Shubman Gill will be leading the troops from the front for the upcoming season. He is expected to lead the batting attack by example for the Ahmedabad-based franchise. The 25-year-old has played 103 games in the IPL and scored 3216 runs at an average of 37.8 and strike rate of 135.7 including four centuries and 23 half centuries.

His performance took a hit in the last season where he scored 426 runs in 12 games. Josh Buttler is one of the explosive overseas openers in the history of the IPL is easily one of the most destructive batsman in the tournament is known for his ability to provide quick starts and potential to dominate the game in the power play overs.

The right-handed batsman can turn games around single-handedly and is expected to beef up Gujarat Titans batting attack in the upcoming season. The Ahmedabad-based franchise signed him for Rs 15.75 crore at the IPL 2025 auction.

Having been a part of the IPL since 2016 he has made 107 appearances in the competition and scored 3582 runs at an average of 38.1 and impressive strike rate of 147.5 including 7 centuries and 19 half-centuries.
