Ben Stokes seems the most favourable man to be released by current champions. He was signed by the franchise following a bidding war costing INR 16.25 crores. However, the decision didn’t turn out to be as fruitful as they would’ve thought.

Stokes played only two games and scored 15 runs before he got injured. After he recovered, he didn’t get the nod due to the team’s combination. He returned to England before the playoffs to prepare for international duties.

Keeping it in mind, the franchise would want to free up a big sum to acquire quality players at the auction. On top of that, Stokes’ availability for the next season is still under the radar.
