IPL 2023: Predicted strongest playing XI of Gujarat Titans (GT) for the season
Gujarat Titans will put on their everything to retain the trophy.
Hardik Pandya brilliantly led Gujarat Titans (GT) to an IPL trophy in their maiden season, which left everyone surprised. Many had doubts over their abilities and combinations before the tournament. But the newly-introduced franchise showcased good cricket to shut down the critics.
Unlike the previous season, the Gujarat-based franchise will be under pressure to defend their title. The hopes of the cricketing world will be high and it will be something to watch if they can maintain the same level this time as well or not. At the auction table, they did some fair business to strengthen their squad.
In this article, we will take a look at the Gujarat Titans’ strongest playing XI for IPL 2023.
Openers: Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha (WK)
Just like the previous year, young talented batter Shubman Gill is expected to be in charge of opening the innings for his side. He did a pretty good job last season, where he ended up scoring 483 runs in 16 games with an average of 34.50 and a strike-rate of 132.33, including four fifties.
Gill has shown great form for team India in recent months across all three formats. With more experience under his hat, he will be expected to deliver a wonderful performance for the team. On the other end, veteran wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha is likely to accompany him.
Saha scored 317 runs in 11 innings, averaging 31.70 at a strike-rate of 122.39. He is definitely going to get the nod ahead of Matthew Wade, who failed to impress the management last time. The Australian wicketkeeper managed to score only 157 runs in 10 games, falling short to his standards.
