IPL 2023: Mumbai Indians (MI) Retained, Released and Traded Players List

Mumbai Indians (MI) are the most-successful club in the history of India’s premier T20 competition. Although they weren’t that dominant in the initial seasons of the IPL, they became a phenomenal force to be reckoned with ever since Rohit Sharma took charge as the captain. Under his captaincy, Mumbai Indians went on to accomplish many honours.

The Mumbai-based franchise have won as many as five trophies, more than any other team in the tournament. On the other hand, their rivals Chennai Super Kings have won four titles so far. Rohit Sharma and Co failed to live up their reputation in the fifteenth edition of the Indian Premier League.

The five-time IPL champions ended up at the rock-bottom of the points table. Having played 14 games, the MI franchise were able to win only four games but lost the rest of the 10 games. They collected just eight points with a terrible Net Run Rate of -0.203. This was also the first time that they finished at the bottom of the points table in their history.

However, they will be looking forward to staging a comeback in the next season. If reports doing the rounds are to be believed, the likes of Fabian Allen, Kieron Pollard, Tymal Mills, Mayank Markande and Hrithik Shoukin were released by the franchise ahead of the IPL 2023 auction.

Mumbai Indian purchased England international Jofra Archer for INR 8 crore in the IPL 2022 mega auction in Bengaluru. However, the paceman didn’t play the last season due to injury. Mumbai Indians (MI) Traded Players Lists for IPL 2023:

Mumbai Indians have acquired the services of Australian paceman Jason Behrendorff from Royal Challengers Bangalore in a trade deal prior to the IPL 2023 Auction. The left-arm paceman joined RCB in IPL 2022 season for his base price of INR 75 lakh. He has previously represented CSK in 2021, MI in 2018 and RCB in 2022.
