The English wicketkeeper-batter Jos Buttler has begun the new season with a bang as he smashed a half-century off just 20 deliveries against Sunrisers Hyderabad. England’s white-ball skipper certainly is one of the most dangerous batters out there. He proved it last season with his efforts after scoring 863 runs and winning the Orange Cap in the IPL 2022.
Jos Buttler has arrived with the same intent in the IPL 2023 as well. The Rajasthan Royals’ opener looked in a blistering mood in their opening game of the tournament. The champions of the inaugural season are up against Sunrisers Hyderabad in their first game of the IPL 2023 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.
SRH’s stand-in skipper Bhuvneshwar Kumar won the toss and invited Sanju Samson & co. to bat first. However, his decision soon proved wrong courtesy of a heavy onslaught from the RR openers. Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal looked aggressive from the word go as the duo added 50 runs in the first four overs. While Jaiswal was the aggressor in the first couple of overs, Buttler soon found his rhythm to smash the SRH’s bowlers all around the park.

Jos Buttler picks up from where he left off
There was no stopping the Englishman as he raced to a 20-ball fifty inside the powerplay. However, Buttler failed to convert the start into a big knock as he got out after reaching the half-century mark.
On the fifth delivery of the 6th over, Jos Buttler was bowled after missing the backfoot punch off Fazalhaq Farooqi’s nip-backer. Nevertheless, before getting out, Buttler ensured a strong start for his team to capitalise on. He scored 54 runs off 22 deliveries, including seven boundaries and three maximums.
The fans were mighty impressed with Jos Buttler’s efforts as they took to Twitter to express their joy.
