IPL 2022: Hardik Pandya gives a quirky reply to a journalist when asked whether he will bowl

Ace all-rounder Hardik Pandya will return to action when he will lead Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022 slated to commence on March 26.

He recently attended an event where the newly-added franchise, owned by CVC Capital, unveiled their jersey for the upcoming event. After the event, Hardik Pandya addressed the press, where he was asked whether fans will see him bowling in IPL 2022.

The 28-year-old came up with a hilarious reply, keeping the mystery as a secret. Hardik said, “Sir surprise hain woh. Surprise ko surprise rehne do”, he said.

Incidentally, Hardik Pandya has not played any competitive cricket since the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 last year in the UAE. It must be noted that he played mainly as a batsman and was forced to bowl a few overs after he received criticism from certain sections.

He skipped all international assignments citing that he wants to work on his fitness to resume bowling full-fledged. Since then, he has been working tirelessly to attain full fitness.

Hardik Pandya joins NCA ahead of IPL 2022

The celebrated all-rounder has checked into the National Cricket Academy (NCA) on Monday, which has been organised for white-ball players in view of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia later this year.

A brainchild of head coach Rahul Dravid, the camp intends to take a look at the fitness of the pool of cricketers, who might make it to the mega event. Hardik Pandya will spend a couple of days at the NCA before joining Gujarat Titans.

“Yes, he has gone to Bangalore. He will be at the NCA for a few days before returning to Ahmedabad and quarantine,” Cricbuzz quoted a source from the Gujarat Titans side.

Gujarat Titans will begin their IPL 2022 campaign against Lucknow Super Giants on March 28.
