In the game between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans, the all-rounder Hardik Pandya was spotted abusing the senior pacer Mohammad Shami. Pandya seemed unimpressed with Shami’s fielding effort on the boundary and subsequently vented out his frustration.
Gujarat Titans entered the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad on the back of a three-game winning run. However, the Sunrisers successfully ended their winning streak by winning the game easily by 8 wickets.
Batting first, Gujarat Titans posted a modest total of 162/7 in 20 overs. The skipper Hardik Pandya top-scored with 50 runs off 42 deliveries. The youngster Abhinav Manohar also contributed crucial 35 runs off 21 deliveries.
Chasing the target, Sunrisers Hyderabad had a solid start courtesy of Kane Williamson and Abhishek Sharma. The skipper Williamson scored a brilliant half-century for his side, while Nicholas Pooran remained unbeaten for 34 runs off 18 deliveries to take the Sunrisers home.
The incident took place in the 13th over as Hardik Pandya came to bowl his 3rd over. The match was hanging in the balance as Kane Williamson was joined by Rahul Tripathi in the middle, requiring 81 runs off 8 overs. However, Kane Williamson decided to attack his opposite number and smashed Pandya for two sixes in the over.
Rahul Tripathi faced the final delivery of Hardik Pandya’s over, and he ramped the short delivery towards the third man. However, the ball landed short of the fielder Mohammad Shami as he didn’t come charging for the catch and decided to save the boundary instead.
The effort didn’t please Hardik Pandya as the skipper was seen yelling at the senior cricketer, and he also hurled out some unpleasantry words.
