IPL 2021: David Warner wasn’t allowed to travel with the team to play against Chennai Super Kings, says reports

David Warner is likely to be released by the franchise in the next auction.

Sunrisers Hyderabad finds themselves in an awkward position in the current points table. The dressing room lost the mojo and the players lost confidence in the ongoing season. They are languishing at the bottom of the points table as they secured only two wins this season. SRH recently lost to Chennai Super Kings by 6 wickets.

Chennai Super Kings became the first franchise to qualify for the playoffs this season. On the other hand, SRH officially became the first side to crash out of the playoffs. A lot has happened at SRH camp this season where David Warner was stripped of the captaincy, paving way for Kane Williamson to handle the duties.

There is no doubt that the SRH team management has treated David Warner harshly. The Australian stalwart was also dropped a couple of times in the games this season. In fact, Warner helped Sunrisers clinch the maiden IPL title in the 2016 season. Now, he is not even regularly starting in the playing XI.

Warner was not allowed to travel with the teammates for the CSK match: Reports

David Warner came under fire for his dismal batting form. The southpaw scored 195 runs in 8 games at an average of 24.37. After having failed to live up to his reputation of late, he was dropped from the SRH squad. If reports doing the rounds are to be believed, then wasn’t even permitted to accompany his teammates in the match against Chennai Super Kings.

SRH team management sacked Warner as captain following his terrible performance as a captain and batsman in the first leg of IPL 2021. Even after Kane Williamson took charge as captain, nothing much changed for them. David Warner got only two chances in the second leg. Sadly, he ended up scoring 0 and 2 in both innings. After that, the team management dropped him from the playing XI.

Meanwhile, his absence in the dugout stirred a lot of debate. Now, a Twitter user by the name of Mufaddal Vohra has tweeted about the ongoing saga. “David Warner wasn’t even allowed to travel with the team to the stadium last night for the game.”
