IPL 2021: 3 Mumbai Indians cricketers who might warm the bench for most of the season

2. Dhawal Kulkarni

Indian Premier League has witnessed batsmen dominating the gameplay with sixes and fours. Batsmen are not letting the bowlers dictate tempo, especially in the powerplay overs. However, only very few bowlers don’t give up despite being tonk to all parts of the park. Dhawal Kulkarni has lived up to his reputation.

He has often irked the batsmen with a combination of pace and swing. He has the ability to pick up wickets in the powerplay. Kulkarni’s impressive performances in Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals’ set-up and in the domestic circuit helped him earn a call-up to the Indian cricket team.

The right-arm medium pacer hasn’t been a regular starter lately. Moreover, he is not a death bowler. MI squad already boasts Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah in their arsenal. So, it makes it quite tough for Kulkarni to break into the playing XI. He took 86 wickets in 91 games with an expensive economy of 8.26.
