Former and current cricketers from Pakistan targeting India is not a new story these days. We all know the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. The relationship between the two nations hasn’t been good for more than a decade. Those were days when the fans used to watch matches being played between India and Pakistan in international cricket.

Indians used to tour Pakistan and likewise, Pakistan used to tour India to play limited-overs leg and red-ball cricket. However, due to political tensions between the two nations, they are locking horns with each other only in ICC events. Meanwhile, Pakistan PM Imran Khan came up with a shocking statement.

The former Pakistan cricketer stressed the fact that their neighbouring nation manages the whole world cricket. Imran Khan came up with this statement after he was upset with England and New Zealand backing out of Pakistan tours of late.

No one would dare to cancel a series against India: Pakistan PM Imran Khan

The former Pakistan cricketer added that no nation would take such a decision against India because of the amount of money involved. The former all-rounder also added that BCCI’s financial power permits them to control world cricket.

“England let itself down. I think that there is still this feeling in England that they do a great favour to play with countries like Pakistan. One of the reasons is that, obviously, the money,” the former Pakistan all-rounder added in a conversation with Middle East Eye.

“Money is a big player now. For the players, as well as for the cricket boards. The money lies in India, so basically, India controls world cricket now. I mean, they do, whatever they say goes. No one would dare do that to India because they know that the sums involved, India can sort of produce much more money,” he added in a statement.

Earlier, Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ramiz Raja had echoed that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi can shut down PCB the day he wants to. “Pakistan Cricket Board runs on 50% of ICC funding. ICC funding is received from their member boards. ICC’s 90% funding is received from India. In one way, India’s business houses are running the Pakistan cricket board.

Tomorrow, if the Indian Prime Minister decides that we don’t want to fund Pakistan anymore, the PCB can collapse. 90% of ICC’s funding are driven by India,” Ramiz had said.
