IND vs SL 2022: Top 10 funny memes after India’s 6-wicket loss to Sri Lanka
The unthinkable has happened. The defending champions India have crashed out of the Asia Cup 2022. On Tuesday, Sri Lanka decimated the mighty Indian team by 6 wickets to almost seal their berth in the final of the competition. The Indian team has now lost two back-to-back games in the Super 4 stage and their last game against Afghanistan will not create any difference for them now.
After losing their first Super-4 game to Pakistan, it was a must-win game for India to stay alive in the competition. Sri Lanka skipper Dasun Shanka invited the Men in Blue to bat first. His bowlers didn’t disappoint as they reduced the opposition to 13/2 in the 3rd over. However, the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma counterattacked Sri Lanka with some most brilliant hitting.
The skipper added vital 97 runs for the 4th wicket with Suryakumar Yadav. However, once Rohit Sharma got out after playing a blitz of 72 runs off 41 deliveries, no other batter spent the time in the middle. Just like the last game, the Indian batters kept throwing their wickets away and in the end, could only post 173/8 in 20 overs.
Chasing the total, the Sri Lanka openers came out all guns blazing and smashed the Indian bowlers all around the park. The duo of Kusal Mendis and Pathum Nissanka added 97 runs off 67 deliveries for the first wicket. Furthermore, both batters completed their respective fifties before getting out.

The Indian bowlers tried to make the game interesting in the middle by picking four quick wickets but sensible cricket from Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Dasuna Shanka saw the Sri Lankan team crossing the line and setting a foot in the final of the tournament. For India, Yuzvendra Chahal came back strongly with three wickets after going for runs in the first couple of overs.
The fans were evidently displeased by the performance of the Indian team and they trolled them mercilessly on Twitter.
