IND vs BAN 2024: India’s probable XI for the first Test versus Bangladesh
Middle-order: Shubman Gill (vc), Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant (wk), Sarfaraz Khan
Shubman Gill who will be coming out to bat at No.3 has played 25 Tests for India wherein he scored 1492 runs at an average of 35.5, including four centuries and 6 fifties. The 24-year-old has gone through ups and downs in his career. However, the India’s vice-captain will be looking to produce the spark in the upcoming Test series.
Meanwhile, former Indian captain Virat Kohli is slotted at 4 and is expected to go all guns blazing in the upcoming Test series. Notably, he has fared well against Bangladesh in Test cricket. Having played six Tests against them, he scored 437 runs at an average of 54.62 including two centuries to his name.
He registered the best score of 204 against the Tigers. Rishabh Pant will be keeping the wickets in the series. The aggressive wicket keeper batsman has adopted a fearless brand of cricket, a template which he thrived well against the Test opponents such as South Africa and Australia in recent years.
As usual, Pant will be sticking to the bazball approach without the shadow of a doubt. Sarfaraz Khan made his Test debut against England earlier this year. His debut was nothing short of spectacular. The right-handed batsman scored 200 runs in three matches at an average of 50, including 3 fifties. The 26 year old will be looking forward to continuing his good form against Bangladesh.
