IND vs BAN 2024: 3 reasons why Kuldeep Yadav should play second Test versus Bangladesh

Kuldeep Yadav has always been an exciting spinner to watch. The chinaman bowler has often pitched in with impressive performances whenever he has been given the opportunity. Overall, in just 12 Test matches, he has taken 53 wickets, including four five-wicket hauls.

However, despite his strong performances, Kuldeep was overlooked for the Chepauk Test as he was not drafted into the playing XI. The Indian selection committee might as well rest Jasprit Bumrah to manage his workload such that they can bring Kuldeep into the mix.

The second Test will begin on September 27, Friday in Kanpur and let’s take a look at three reasons why he should be a part of the playing XI.

1. Dominant record at home

Kuldeep Yadav’s performances on Indian soil have been nothing short of remarkable. In 8 home Tests, he has taken 35 wickets at a terrific bowling average of 21.82, including two fifers. What makes this even more scintillating is the fact that Team India won each one of these 8 games.

In all these games, he was able to make crucial breakthroughs and keep opposition batters in check. He played a significant role in these wins for the team. Bringing Kuldeep into the Kanpur Test would do India a world of good, considering his match-winning abilities in home conditions.
