IND vs AUS 2023: 3 Indian players who must perform against Australia

Team India will return in action against Australia for a three-match ODI series, which will kickoff on 22nd September. It will be their final task before heading into the much-awaited ODI World Cup 2023. Hence, they will be eager to gain momentum ahead of the showpiece event.

The think tank awarded a rest to the likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya for the first two ODIs in order to give exposure to the young lads. Therefore, it will be a golden opportunity for the selected players to showcase their talent and form.

Here, we look at three Indian names who must perform in the ODI series against Australia if they want to concreate their case for the prestigious event.

1) Suryakumar Yadav

Suryakumar Yadav made his ODI debut amid high expectations due to his excellent outing in the T20I format. However, things have gone completely opposite for him in the ODI format till now. Failing to impress the management, he is yet to fix his position in the playing XI.

The right-handed batter has managed to amass only 537 runs in 25 innings, averaging 24.41. The numbers doesn’t justify his standards nor the Indian team. Hence, he has perform excellently well to earn back the faith of his side.

Luckily, Suryakumar is expected to be included in the playing XI for the first two ODIs. It will be his final go to regrab management’s attention and solidify his case. If he manages to do well, Rohit Sharma & Co. might use him in the middle-order or as a finisher.
