Here is the reason behind MS Dhoni not wearing regular camouflaged wicket-keeping gloves

MS Dhoni hogged the limelight when he handed over the captaincy duty to Ravindra Jadeja ahead of the IPL 2022 season. MS Dhoni has been the captain of Chennai Super Kings since IPL 2008 season. Under his captaincy, CSK achieved great success since their entry into the Indian Premier League.

CSK became one of the most powerful teams in the IPL. The yellow brigade won as many as four titles. They were the winners of the last edition of the IPL where they beat KKR in the final to claim their fourth title. Little did everyone know that it would MS Dhoni’s last season as captain.

Despite giving up the captaincy, MS Dhoni would be looking forward to helping the team behind the scenes. Ravindra Jadeja became only the third player after MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina to captain CSK. He is getting a great opportunity to learn from his former captain, MS Dhoni.

Is MS Dhoni retiring after IPL 2022?

MS Dhoni will continue to ply his trade as a wicketkeeper-batsman. During the IPL 2022 opener between CSK and KKR at Wankhede Stadium, MS Dhoni was caught donning unusual gloves. Usually, MS Dhoni dons the camouflaged wicket-keeping gloves.

However, this time around, he was spotted with vintage orange-coloured gloves, which he used to wear in the early days of his international career. Soon after that, pictures of MS Dhoni’s old pictures donning the orange wicketkeeping gloves have gone viral on social media.

CSK started their campaign with a defeat over KKR. The four-time IPL champions posted 131/5 in their quota of 20 overs. KKR chased down the target in 18.3 overs and won the game by six wickets. The biggest positive for CSK was MS Dhoni returning back to his best. He scored a fifty for the first time in three years for CSK. He scored an unbeaten 50 off 38 balls including 7 fours and a six.
