Sourav Ganguly has backed Virat Kohli publicly numerous times ever since becoming the BCCI president. Now the former Indian cricketer has even called Kohli ‘more skilful’ while addressing his comparison with the latter cricketer.

In a recent podcast with BeerBiceps, when asked about his comparison with Kohli in terms of aggression, Ganguly said that he believes that comparison should be based on skill and not aggression. He went on to say that Kohli is superior in skill than him and also believes that the 34-year-old batter will go on to play more games than he did.

“I don’t think that should be the comparison, it should be in terms of skill as a player. I think he is more skilful than I am. We played in different generations, and we played a lot of cricket. I played in my generation and he is going to continue playing and probably play more games than I did. At the present moment, I think I’ve played more than he has but he’ll get past that, he is tremendous,” Ganguly said.

Speaking about the change in the game of cricket between the past and current generation, he said: “The game has got faster, shorter, more sixes, more boundaries, and not many deliveries left outside the off stump. So the game has changed.”

What’s next for Virat Kohli?

Virat Kohli recently broke the long-standing barrier by scoring his 71st international century against Afghanistan on Thursday (September 8) in the Asia Cup 2022. He smashed an unbeaten 122 off just 61 balls, including 12 fours and six sixes to score his maiden T20I century.

Though India failed to live up to the mark in the continental cup, Kohli’s form will be a big boost for them. India will next lock horns with Australia in a three-match T20I series at home to prepare for the T20 World Cup in Australia later this year. Kohli will be eyeing to continue his red-hot form ahead of the mega-event.
