Experienced leg-spinner Amit Mishra aims to make a return in IPL 2023

Experienced leg-spinner Amit Mishra is a popular face in the Indian Premier League cricket fraternity. His accomplishments in the lucrative IPL has never been in doubt. In fact, he undoubtedly a legend in the India’s premier T20 competition.

Notably, he is also the only bowler to bag three hat-tricks in the tournament. He was once the leading wicket-taker. The veteran has accounted for 166 dismissals in his IPL career. He sits at the third place in the list of most wickets in the IPL.

The experienced campaigner kick-started his IPL career with Delhi Daredevils now (Delhi Capitals) before shifting his base to Deccan Chargers (now terminated) in 2011. Impressed by his consistent performances, the Delhi-based franchise re-signed him in 2015.

Amit Mishra aims to make a comeback in next season of the IPL

The experienced leggie has stayed with Delhi Capitals till 2021 season. Delhi Capitals chose to release the veteran post the fourteenth edition of the IPL. He signed up for the mega IPL 2022 auction for his base price of Rs 1.5 crore.

Unfortunately, he didn’t attract any bid in the auction. However, he could still return to the world’s biggest cricket league if any team prefers to sign him as a replacement player. Mishra is also planning to make a comeback to the next season of the IPL.

After the 2022 mega auction in February, Parth Jindal tweeted, “To one of the @IPL greats @MishiAmit we @DelhiCapitals would like to salute everything you have done for us over all these years and would love to have you back at DC in whatever capacity you see fit as your insights would be most valuable. Mishy bhai DC is yours for life.”

To which, the veteran spinner Amit Mishra said he is not finished yet. “Thanks @ParthJindal11 for the kind words & your acknowledgment of my services for the team. I am truly humbled! But, I am not finished yet and can easily add to the legacy of @DelhiCapitals…only if DC needs me! I am always in their corner. #ibleedDC.”
