Who is writing the scripts for Royal Challengers Bangalore this season? What a season they have had – a full of twists and turns and ups and downs. Phew!!! They began their season strongly to emerge as one of the strongest sides in the IPL this season. However, RCB slipped midway through and then the qualification to the playoffs looked like a distant possibility. In the end, RCB managed to finish the 4th in the points table and sneak into the playoffs courtesy of some help from Mumbai Indians.
On Wednesday, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants battled it out for a place in the 2nd Qualifier as both teams met in the Eliminator of the IPL 2022 at the iconic Eden Gardens.
LSG’s skipper KL Rahul won the vital coin flip and asked the opposition to bat first. His move worked at the beginning as the left-arm pacer Mohsin Khan dismissed Faf du Plessis in the very first over but it was all RCB from thereon.
Rajat Patidar came to bat at number three and exploded with a magnificent century. He alongside Dinesh Karthik remained unbeaten to take the Bangalore-based franchise to a total of 207/4 in 20 overs.

Chasing the total, Quinton de Kock and Manan Vohra got out early but KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda kept the Super Giants in the game. At a point in time, the game seemed to slip out of RCB’s hands as the KL Rahul-led team required 35 runs off 18 deliveries with Marcus Stoinis and KL Rahul on the wicket.
However, Harshal Patel delivered a brilliant over followed by an equally good over from Josh Hazlewood to seal the deal for the Reds. In the end, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 14 runs to earn the bragging rights to play in the 2nd Qualifier.
The fans could not control their excitement levels after watching such a brilliant game of cricket and expressed their emotions on Twitter.
