Delhi Capitals are one of the teams that made giants strides with regards to overall performances in the last few editions of the Indian Premier League. They broke the shackles and eventually qualified for the first IPL final in the 2020 edition. Needless to say, they surrendered at the hands of Mumbai Indians in the epic final showdown.

However, their performance took a hit in the fifteenth edition of the IPL. They failed to qualify for the playoffs as they finished fifth on the IPL 2022 points table. DC won 7 games and lost 7 games and narrowly missed out on qualifying for the playoffs. Overall, they have made it to the playoffs 6 times in their history (twice as semi-finalists, one-time runners-up, three times in the playoffs).

On the other hand, Gujarat Titans announced their arrival as an IPL team in the fifteenth edition of the Indian Premier League. With all their bases covered, they were indeed a formidable force to be reckoned with throughout the IPL 2022 season. Under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya and under the guidance of Ashish Nehra (as head coach), Gujarat Titans pulled off the unthinkable in their debut season.

At first, they successfully qualified for the playoffs. Having played 14 games in the IPL 2022 league stage, they were able to win 10 games and lost the other four games. Rightly so, they collected 20 points, the most by any team in the last season and finished as the table-toppers. After that, they made it all the way to the finals and defeated Rajasthan Royals to win their maiden IPL title.
