Chennai Super Kings have a rich history in the Indian Premier League. Under the tutelage of MS Dhoni, CSK became one of the powerhouses in India’s premier T20 competition. Moreover, they have perfected the habit of making it to the playoffs, more often than not, compared to the other teams in the tournament. Besides that, they have made it to the finals on 9 occasions, more than any other team.

However, in the IPL 2022 season, there was a setback as they narrowly missed out on qualifying for the playoffs. Delhi Capitals ended up in fifth place in the IPL 2022 points table. They won seven games and lost as many games in the league stage.

Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals locked horns with each other on 27 occasions in the history of the Indian Premier League. Both teams have had fantastic battles over the years. Chennai Super Kings have won a total of 17 games whereas Delhi Capitals have won 10 games so far.

Chennai Super Kings had the upper hand over Delhi Capitals till IPL 2019 as they won most games with relative ease. However, there was a bit of a power shift towards Delhi Capitals as they won four games in a row over Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2020 and IPL 2021 seasons respectively. Chennai Super Kings won the last two meetings over Delhi Capitals.
