Yuzvendra Chahal will be representing Rajasthan Royals in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. The wrist-spinner played for Royal Challengers Bangalore for a long time before the franchises parted ways with him. RCB released him ahead of the auction and Rajasthan Royals found this as a perfect opportunity to sign him.

Although Mumbai Indians showed interest to sign the right-arm leg-break bowler, Rajasthan Royals pressed the case strongly in the bidding process. In the end, the Royals had the last laugh in the bidding battle by securing the spinner’s services for Rs 6.5 crore. Chahal is the kind of bowler every team likes to have.

The spinner has time and again proved that he can take crucial wickets in crunch situations. He has played 114 games in the Indian Premier League wherein he took 139 wickets to his name. Moreover, he has bagged 2 four-wicket hauls while also maintaining an impressive economy rate of 7.59.

Rajasthan Royals haven’t been up to the mark in the last few seasons of the IPL. Under Sanju Samson, the Royals finished at the bottom of the points table in IPL 2020 season. In the subsequent season, they finished seventh. Needless to say, they will look to create an impact in the fresh season, given that they have signed top players at the auction.
