T20 World Cup 2024: 3 worrying signs for Team India from Pakistan clash

Team India led by Rohit Sharma registered two wins on the trot in the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. Rightly so, they are on top of the Group A points table with 4 points at an NRR of +1.455. Apart from them, USA are also the unbeaten team in the Group A with 4 points at an NRR of +0.626.

India were able to muster 119 runs on the board, courtesy of Pakistan’s clinical bowling display. In reply, Pakistan messed up the plot in the run-chase as they ended up at 113/7 in 20 overs. India won the game by 6 runs and registered their seventh win against the Green Shirts in T20 World Cup history.

While Team India already remain unbeaten in the tournament, there exists plenty of woes in their arsenal, that needs thorough inspection. There should absolutely be no margin for error, especially in a T20 World Cup and any grave mistake might come back to haunt the team badly. 1. Shivam Dube lacks the punch

Shivam Dube has been on the receiving end for his lackluster performance in the ongoing T20 World Cup. The left-hander played out two deliveries against Ireland but didn’t score a single run. During the high-voltage clash against Pakistan, he failed miserably.

The 30-year-old had a chance to steal the spotlight when the team was in dire need of runs. Unfortunately, he managed to score 3 runs off 9 at a strike rate of 33.33. Besides his woeful batting display, he also came under fire for his shoddy fielding effort. He dropped a regulation catch of Mohammad Rizwan at the deep fine leg position.
