India’s probable 20-man squad for T20 World Cup 2024: Reports
BCCI is yet to finalize the actual squad for T20 WC 2024.
The highly-anticipated T20 World Cup 2024 is one and a half month away from getting underway. The main event will be co-hosted by the Caribbean islands and the United States of America from June 1 to June 29, 2024.
Meanwhile, all eyes are on the Indian cricketers who are actively involved in the ongoing edition of the IPL. The players are trying to give their best so much to impress the selectors in order to make the cut in the final squad.
Recently, a senior BCCI source shed some light on the selection of the players for the T20 World Cup. The source further added that the players will be picked during the last week of this month and it remains to be seen what the future holds in store.
The source further added that by the end of the first half of the IPL, the national selection committee will be able to judge the form and fitness of the players before making the final call. Rohit Sharma who will be leading the team from the front will be expecting a team with all bases covered to make a bid for the title.
Virat Kohli has been in scintillating form in the ongoing IPL season. He is currently leading the batting charts with 361 runs in 7 games whereas Rohit Sharma scored 261 runs in 6 games. Shubman Gill essayed 263 runs in 7 games.
Sanju Samson scored 276 runs in 7 games. On the other hand, Yuzvendra Chahal and Jasprit Bumrah are on top of the bowling charts with 12 wickets and 10 wickets respectively. Arshdeep Singh took 9 wickets.

“The Indian team will be selected some time during the last week of April, the time by which the first half of IPL will be over, and the national selection committee will be in a position to assess form and fitness of the contenders,” a senior BCCI source had previously revealed.
