WATCH: Obscene gesture from Kane Williamson to his teammate shocks cricket fraternity

Former New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson is known for his cool and calm demeanour on and off the field. His cool personality has made him one of the most respected figures and is admired by scores of fans from every nook and corner of the cricket fraternity.

Even the calmest of personalities tend to lose their temper once in a blue moon. As in the case of Kane Williamson, he not only lost his cool but also displayed an obscene gesture, which left the cricket universe in utter disbelief.

In a video clip that has been doing the rounds on social media portals, Kane Williamson was seen displaying an offensive gesture to his teammate. The incident happened during the practice session when the cameraman caught Kane Williamson in a bad-tempered mood.

It is quite common for cricketers to do stretching in the practice session, which helps them tick the boxes in balance, coordination, agility, speed, power and reaction time during the passage of play. Just as when the senior pro, Kane Williamson was stretching, one of his teammates happened to hit the ball while practising.

The ball went on to strike Kane Williamson and the latter was visibly upset for a moment, which saw him make an obscene gesture. Meanwhile, Kane Williamson is currently part of the first Test match against South Africa at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui.

Kane Williamson has been the star performer for the hosts in the first and second innings. The senior cricketer scored 118 (16 fours) in the first innings and then followed it up with 109 (12 fours, 1 six) in the second innings.

The hosts find themselves in a commanding position as they are poised to inflict a painful defeat on the Proteas. As things stand, New Zealand finished Day 3 with 179/4 with a humongous lead of 528 runs in the second innings. With two more days of action left, the hosts are certain to clinch the Test opener.
