Umran Malik Fastest Ball in Cricket So Far
Umran Malik's ability to generate extra pace makes him an X-factor.
Bowling is an art form that requires a lot of hard work and dedication to become successful and master the art. Once you learn to bowl six balls of an over at one spot and be consistent in your lines and lengths, you are considered to have become a really good bowler.
There is a different USP for every bowler – some might have extra pace, some might bowl very good slower ones, some bowlers might swing the ball very well, some might bowl very good yorkers, a spinner might have a lethal googly, etc.
One such Indian pacer, Umran Malik, has the knack of bowling really fast and is probably the fastest pacer in the history of Indian cricket. This article will let you know about his journey and what are his fastest balls in the IPL.
A person is born with some talent but becoming a master of that talent requires exceptional commitment and hard work. Umran Malik, a 23-year-old cricketer from Gujjar Nagar district in Jammu, has mastered this art after toiling for hours in the scorching heat and winters of Jammu and Kashmir.
Being a son of a fruit seller, Umran Malik was not raised in a very comfortable environment and struggled a lot during his childhood days. He was not deprived of the basic needs but when it came to playing cricket, he did not have any opportunities in the town he lived.
He was a gully cricket player till the age of 17 but then came an angel into his life whose name is Irfan Pathan. Pathan identified his talent and being the player-coach of the Jammu state team at that time, he gave Umran the required exposure and unleashed this player into the domestic circuit of India.
After that, it didn’t take time for Umran to come into the news with his commendable fast bowling. He made his IPL debut with the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2021 season and the very next year, he got a chance to live his dream of playing for India against Ireland. In the 2022 season of the IPL, he was at par with international bowlers like Lockie Ferguson, in terms of bowling speed.
There is still a long way to go for this young cricketer but if he focuses on accuracy along with maintaining his bowling speed of 150+ kmph, he can prove to be a real asset for the Indian team in the future.
