WATCH: Michael Neser grabs stupendous boundary catch at long-off to dismiss Jordan Silk in BBL 2022-23

The ongoing edition of the Big Bash League witnessed a surreal fielding effort, which was one of the top drawers in the history of the sport. The incident took place during the 25th game of Australia’s premier T20 competition between Brisbane Heat and Sydney Sixers at The Gabba in Brisbane.

Michael Neser hogged the limelight after he displayed incredible athleticism near the boundary rope to take the catch. Had it not been for his quick presence of mind, he would have surely messed it up. However, he was totally aware of what he was doing in the first place.

As a result, he was able to pull off a never-before-seen catch in the history of the sport. Michael Neser drew plaudits for his spectacular boundary catch and the video clip of him cautiously taking the catch in his safe pair of hands has now gone viral on the internet.

During Sydney Sixers’ innings, middle-order batter, Jordan Silk tried to hit a maximum off Mark Steketee over the long-off. However, his shot lacked elevation in the first place. As it turned out, Michael Neser, who was patrolling at the long-off region, took a juggling catch.

The Australian made sure that he did not touch the ground even after crossing the boundary rope. He ensured to offer a timely jump over the boundary rope and ensured to get the job done. Fans and commentators applauded the cricketer for his breathtaking catch.

Batting first, Brisbane Heat posted 224/5 in their quota of 20 overs as Nathan McSweeney top-scored with 84 off 51 balls, including eight boundaries and three sixes. On the other hand, Sydney Sixers did put up a great fight in the run-chase till the end but went on to lose the game by 15 runs.
