T20 World Cup 2022: Two changes India might make in their playing XI against Netherlands

Despite winning the first game, India would require to revisit their combination.

the Men in Blue came back from the dead to register an enthralling victory over arch-rivals Pakistan to begin their World Cup campaign with a win. India have boosted their chances of qualifying for the semifinals massively by winning the game against Pakistan by 4 wickets. However, it took something out-of-the-world from Virat Kohli to win the game for India as they were behind in the game for the most part.

While the victory will massively boost the confidence of Rohit Sharma & co. massively, a couple of issues for the Indian team were visible in the high-octane clash. The balance of the Indian team was a bit off and the team management would like to address that issue immediately. India will now play against Netherlands on 27th October before they take on South Africa in their most important encounter of Super 12. This game might be an opportunity for the Indian team to try a thing or two before they meet the Proteas.

Hence, in this post, we will take a look at the two changes India might make in their playing XI against Netherlands.

1. Rishabh Pant in place of Dinesh Karthik

Dinesh Karthik has been a revelation ever since his return to international cricket. The wicketkeeper-batter is a player reborn and has donned the finishing shoes for India. The 37-year-old has been playing for Men in Blue as a pure batter rather than for his wicketkeeping skills.

However, with only two runs required off two balls against Pakistan, DK failed to do the job and Ravi Ashwin had to provide the finishing touches. If Dinesh Karthik falters in providing the finish, he fails to add any value to the Indian set-up.

India might give Rishabh Pant an opportunity against relatively weaker opposition in the Netherlands. India don’t have any left-handed batter in their squad other than Axar Patel. The left-handed southpaw is a game-changer on his given day and it won’t be a bad idea to try him before the all-important clash against the Proteas.
