James Anderson shares muted list on his Twitter; says it has Rishabh Pant and Reverse Sweep on it
The English pace bowling great James Anderson is currently enjoying a strong phase in the twilight of his career. The 40-year-old recently became the first fast-bowler in the history of the game to breach the 950-wicket mark in international cricket. Meanwhile, with 664 wickets in 174 Tests, he already is the pacer with the most wickets in red-ball cricket.
James Anderson is a Test specialist and often gets a lot of free time when England is not playing Test cricket. Hence, he has become pretty active on social media lately. Recently, the veteran pacer shared his list of muted words on Twitter. Interestingly, the list has the names of Rishabh Pant and Glenn McGrath alongside the terms, including worse than Steyn, reverse sweep, and Clouderson.
In case you don’t know, Twitter has recently rolled out a feature that allows the users to add unpleasant words to the mute list and then the tweets having those words will not appear on the timeline. England’s veteran pacer made full use of the feature and has added many words to his muted list.

James Anderson was in a conversation with Tailenders podcast co-hosts Greg James, Matt ‘Mattchin’ Horan, and Felix White when he revealed his list of muted words on Twitter. The right-handed pacer reads that terms he has muted include amusing digs at opponents from South Africa, Australia, and India.

Despite Anderson’s consistent performances, the critics have always argued that he only performs in home conditions that assist to swing bowling. Annoyed with consistent trolling, James Anderson has also muted words such as “cloud”, “clouds” and “clouderson.” The names of Glenn McGrath and Rishabh Pant come as no surprise as Anderson has always been compared to the Aussie great, while the pacer is trolled as Rishabh Pant reverse-swept him for a boundary in a Test match.
