Rashid Khan reveals Shubman Gill as the only batter against who he thought it will be tough to bowl
After defeating Rajasthan Royals by 7 wickets in the IPL 2022 final to clinch the coveted IPL trophy, the Gujarat Titans leggie praised his teammate Shubman Gill.
“So proud to be here with him. With someone like him, it gives you lots of energy in the game. The way he played throughout the tournament was unbelievable so pleased to have him on our side. He’s the only one I was thinking will be hard for me to bowl to but luckily I have him on my side,” said Rashid Khan on Star Sports in a post-match conversation.
Shubman Gill played a wonderful knock in the final and stayed unbeaten for 45 runs to ensure a victory for his side. Meanwhile, Rashid also praised his fellow bowlers after the victory for restricting Rajasthan Royals to a mediocre score.
“We adjusted quickly with the wicket. We know it’s a kind of wicket where chasing 150-plus was going to be hard. Middle overs were very important. We bowled really well as a unit,” Rashid Khan concluded.
