3 reasons why Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) might not be able to defend their title in IPL 2025

KKR might play all their home games elsewhere in IPL 2025.

2. KKR might not host any game next season

According to a report by The Telegraph, the Eden Gardens is all set to undergo a huge renovation. As a result, the venue might not host any IPL match next season. If that’s the case, the Knight Riders are at a massive disadvantage as they will not get to play the home games.

The reports state that the renovation is being taken place and is expected to complete by December 2025. Shreyas Iyer & Co will have to play all their home games elsewhere next season.

3. Andre Russell and Sunil Narine’s age factor

KKR have by far benefited from the services of Andre Russell and Sunil Narine. The Caribbeans have delivered the goods ever so well for several years now. Narine was named the Man of the Series award for his scintillating all-round performance in IPL 2024.

On the other hand, Andre Russell’s batting was short of an effect. However, he ensured to fire the bowling cylinder really well. There are chances that KKR’s think-tank might as well offload the Caribbean duo, considering that they are 36 years old.
