It might come as a surprise to many as the Gujarat Giants broke the bank to sign the Kiwi pacer under caution for IPL 2022. The champions of the previous edition shelled out INR 10 crore to secure the services of Lockie Ferguson. Furthermore, the right-handed pacer was one of their strike bowlers during IPL 2022.
However, as per reports, Gujarat Giants are looking to trade Lockie Ferguson with Kolkata Knight Riders for young Indian pacer Shivam Mavi. It could be a win-win deal for both sides as Gujarat Giants already have Alzarri Joseph in their ranks.
Furthermore, the arrival of Shivam Mavi will add firepower to their already stacked Indian pace attack. It will also allow them to play an extra foreign batter to strengthen their relatively weak batting unit. Hence, it won’t be a surprise if the Gujarat Titans pull off the trigger on this trade deal.
