India’s star all-rounder Hardik Pandya was last seen donning the Indian jersey during the limited-overs series against Australia. The all-rounder impressed everyone with his style of batting where he scored crucial runs in the ODI and T20I series in Australia. The 27-year-old scored 90 in the first ODI and 92 in the third ODI against the Aussies.
In the second T20I against Australia, he scored a quickfire 42 off 22 balls and helped his team secure a brilliant win. After playing the limited-overs series, he didn’t take part in the Border Gavaskar Trophy series as he took the flight to India to spend time with his family and to rest his back before he makes a return to the Indian team set-up.
The all-rounder has improved his batting to a greater extent now. Earlier, he echoed that he is pretty much focused on his batting while also adding that he would bowl only when he is 100% fit. At the moment, he wants to concentrate on his batting. The stalwart will be back in cricketing action for the upcoming series against England, with the first Test slated to be played on February 5.
He has returned to Test squad for the first time since India’s tour of England in 2018. The Indian team management named him in the team squad for the upcoming two Tests against Joe Root-led team. The first two Tests will be played in Chennai at MA Chidambaram Stadium. The last two Tests will be played in Ahmedabad in Motera Stadium.
