Former India captain Virat Kohli is one of the most popular cricketer on the planet. He is under the spotlight every time he is out there in the ground. While he has stepped down as the captain of India after a successful stint of seven years, Kohli’s popularity has not gone down an inch.
Being under the public eyes comes with both benefits and repercussions. He recently faced the negative side of being under the scanner, when Virat Kohli was caught chewing a gum during the national anthem was played ahead of the 3rd ODI against South Africa at Newlands in South Africa.
While other cricketers were busy humming the anthem, Kohli was caught on camera chewing a gum. It didn’t bode well with the fans, who slammed the celebrated cricketers for his antics.

Speaking of the game, South Africa were bowled out for 287 runs after India made a superb comeback before Quinton de Kock and Rassie van der Dussen had set the home side on track for a mammoth total.
The Proteas were at 214/3 at the end of 35 overs with Quinton de Kock getting a brilliant hundred and van der Dussen looking good with another fifty. But then there was a little collapse, with both the set batters getting out in quick succession.
David Miller and Dwayne Pretorius though did well to ensure there wasn’t a complete collapse, leaving them with a score that is well below of what they were eyeing in the final 15 overs.
