Kolkata Knight Riders were on the course to complete a record chase against Rajasthan Royals in the match 30th of the IPL 2022 on Monday evening. However, The Royals mounted a special comeback courtesy of a Yuzvendra Chahal hattrick in the 17th over to win the game by seven runs.

Barring the first delivery of the innings where Sunil Narine got runout, the Knight Riders were ahead during the whole chase. However, the two-time champions are themselves to blame as they imploded right at the cusp of a win. The skipper Shreyas Iyer was in a prime form to score 85 runs off 51 deliveries and kept his side afloat. However, he looked devastated after the loss and had a verbal spat with the head coach Brendon McCullum.

The Kolkata Knight Riders’ skipper could be seen expressing his displeasure over something to the coach Brendon McCullum and the team management in the dugout. After returning to the dugout, Shreyas Iyer didn’t even put his helmet and bat down before ranting to the team management, including Brendon McCullum.

Shreyas Iyer wasn’t happy with the batting order and was seen talking about some action on the field. However, the KKR coach didn’t reply anything and remained silent. Brendon McCullum understood the heat of the moment as he knew sometimes emotions take over in such close contests.
