WATCH: Sachin Tendulkar sends special wishes to Virat Kohli ahead of the latter’s 100th Test match

Virat Kohli has been the center of attention in the Indian cricket fraternity of late. The former Indian captain can’t wait to play the first Test against Sri Lanka in Mohali. Virat Kohli who was rested for the T20I series against Sri Lanka will be back in cricketing action as he is set to play his 100th Test match.

The 33-year-old run-machine is set to become only the 12th man in Indian cricket to play the 100th Test match. Meanwhile, Indian greats like Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, Virender Sehwag and others congratulated Virat Kohli ahead of the latter’s 100th Test match.

The former Indian cricketers paid a tribute to Kohli by sending him heartfelt wishes as the latter is set to join the 100-Test club. It will be quite interesting to see if Virat Kohli can make his presence count on the field during his milestone match.

It has been more than two and a half years since he brought up his international century and since then, he failed to score a ton. The first Test match will be held on March 4 (Friday) in Mohali.

Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar shared a message through a video as well ahead of Virat Kohli’s special milestone. “Congratulations on your 100th Test appearance. What a terrific achievement! It has been fantastic watching you over the years.

“Numbers will always have their own story. But your real strength is that you have been able to motivate the next generation. This is your immense contribution to the Indian cricket,” said the Little Master in the video posted by BCCI.

Sachin also spoke about the time when he had first come to know about Virat Kohli. “Your team was playing the U-19 World Cup in Indonesia. There were certain players in the team discussing you that this is the one player to watch out for. Acchi batting kar leta hai,” Tendulkar added.
