Watch: Rohit Sharma walks out of the ground and hugs Pakistani fan
Rohit Sharma is one of the most loved cricketers across the world.
The Asia Cup 2022 will get underway with Afghanistan taking on hosts Sri Lanka on Saturday, August 27, in the tournament opener. But it is the clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan that has been the talk of the town.
The two giants of the cricketing world will lock horns on Sunday, August 28, at the Dubai International Stadium. Both sides have been sweating hard in the nets to win the much-anticipated encounter. The multi-nation tournament will also serve as a vital cog in preparations for the T20 World Cup in Australia later this year.
Despite a fiery rivalry, players from both sides were seen greeting and chatting with each other. The most recent was when the Men in Blue met Pakistan’s pacer Shaheen Afridi and wished for his speedy recovery. In return, the left-arm pacer also expressed his desire to see struggling Virat Kohli get back in form.

It is also no secret that the Indian cricketers share a huge fan following in Pakistan. A Pakistani fan recently travelled to the UAE to get a selfie with the former Indian skipper Virat Kohli. After a couple of attempts, he finally got his moment when Kohli went to him and fulfilled his long-time wish.
On Friday, the current Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was seen doing the same as he walked off the ropes to meet some Pakistani fans who had gathered during India’s practice session. One of the fans even wanted to hug him, but due to Covid-19 protocols, he wasn’t allowed to do so. Thus, the Hitman gestured for a hug to fulfil the wish of that Pakistani fan.
The video of the same has gone viral on the internet and fans are praising the right-handed batter for his lovely gesture.
