On Tuesday, India and South Africa locked horns in the 3rd T20 match of the five-game series at Vizag. The visitors were coming to this content riding high on confidence after winning the first two fixtures. At the same time, it was a must-win game for the Men in Blue to stay alive in the series.
South Africa skipper Temba Bavuma won yet another toss and invited Rishabh Pant & co. to bat first. The openers Ishan Kishan and Ruturaj Gaikwad provided India with a tremendous start as the youngsters added 97 runs for the first wicket in the first ten overs. South Africa did manage to pull things back in the last ten overs by restricting Team India to 179/5 in 20 overs.
Rishabh Pant’s brilliance cut short Dwaine Pretorius’ knock
Chasing the total, the Proteas never looked in control as they kept losing wickets at the regular interval. The all-rounder Dwaine Pretorius looked threatening at one moment but he soon was sent packing by the leggie Yuzvendra Chahal with the help of the skipper Pant.
On the final delivery of the 9th over from Yuzi Chahal, Pretorius tried to play a late cut. The ball was quicker and a little too close to the off-stump. Pretorius failed to middle the ball and it caught a thick outside edge instead. Rishabh Pant was alert behind the stumps as he took a sharp catch for a crucial wicket for India.
