Mumbai Indians opening batter Ishan Kishan played an exorbitant no-look shot in the nets while training ahead of their next game against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Ishan was signed by Mumbai Indians with a record-breaking bid of INR 15.25 crores in the IPL 2022 auctions. The left-handed southpaw has managed to live up to his billing so far as he has looked in great touch this season.

Kishan has amassed 135 runs at a strike rate of 148.35, including two fifty-plus scores in two matches. He has been the only shining light in an otherwise dull campaign for the five-time champions. After registering two losses in the first two games, the Mumbai-based franchise is yet to open its account this season.

Ishan Kishan to continue his excellent form

The Blues shared a short clip on their Twitter account where Kishan played a no-look shot over the wicketkeeper’s head in the nets. The post was captioned as“Nothing much, just our ???????????????????????? ???????????????????????? casually nailing the no-look six ????????Paltan…chauk gaye ye dekh ke? ???? #OneFamily #DilKholKe#MumbaiIndians @ishankishan23 MI TV”

The bowler bowled a well-directed bouncer in the bodyline of the Kishan and cramped him for the room. However, Ishan Kishan managed to bend his back to pull off an extravagant no-look shot.

South African youngster Dewald Brevis was stunned by the shot at the non-striker’s end and said, “very good shot; well handled.”

Mumbai Indians’ fielding coach James Pamment looked shocked by the shot, and he was heard saying, “Oh, did you mean that?”

Mumbai Indians need to regroup quickly

Traditionally, Mumbai Indians are known as slow starters, and this season has been no different as they are yet to open their account after two matches. However, Mumbai Indians need to bounce back quickly as the competition level is higher this season, courtesy of the two new teams.

On the other hand, Ishan Kishan will look to extend his purple patch with yet another big knock and help his side to get the first win of the season against the KKR.
