WATCH: Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer left open-mouthed by Virat Kohli’s sheer brilliance in nets
Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer were constantly appreciating Virat Kohli for his shots.
Team India had a disappointing day at the office during the team’s opener against Pakistan in T20 World Cup 2021. The Men in Blue lacked enough firepower in the batting order. The batsmen played right into the hands of Pakistani bowlers.
Indian captain Virat Kohli was the only man who anchored the team’s innings with his half-century. Team India set up a target of 152 for Pakistan. Babar Azam-led team comfortably chased down the total without losing a wicket.
Pakistan won the game by 10 wickets and got off the mark against India in terms of head to head record in T20 World Cup. Meanwhile, Team India are actively preparing for the upcoming game against New Zealand.
The Kiwis are indeed a tough challenge for India. They are known to cause problems to India’s batting order. We have seen that in the ICC ODI World Cup 2019 and in the ICC World Test Championship final. India need to be equally good in the batting, bowling and fielding departments to beat the Kiwis.
Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer in awe of Virat Kohli’s shot selection
Team India will lock horns with New Zealand on October 31 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai. Meanwhile, Indian captain Virat Kohli was seen intensely hitting the drills. On the other hand, youngsters Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer were there to see how Kohli is timing the balls.
It is no secret that Kohli is a brilliant timer of the cricket ball. He looked really good at the nets as he timed the balls to perfection. Meanwhile, Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan were lost for words upon watching Virat Kohli’s sheer brilliance at the training.
The T20 World Cup Instagram handle posted the video along with the caption: “Kishan and Iyer left in awe of Kohli’s brilliance Shot ???? @ishankishan23 and @shreyas41 were left short of words watching @virat.kohli in all his glory in the nets ???? #T20WorldCup”
Ishan Kishan is a part of the 15-member squad. He is yet to make it into the playing XI whereas Shreyas Iyer is one of the three players on the standby list.
