Catches do win matches. We witnessed a perfect example of it on Wednesday night as the West indies batter Evin Lewis turned the game on its head by grabbing arguably the best catch of the IPL. With only three runs required off the last two deliveries and Rinku Singh going all guns blazing, the match was as good as over for Lucknow Super Giants. However, Evin Lewis did the impossible by running in from the boundary and plucking an unbelievable catch to send Rinku back to the dugout.

On Wednesday, Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants treated the IPL fans worldwide with the best match of the ongoing edition. There were more twists and turns in this game than in your average thriller movie.

Lucknow Super Giants batted first after winning the toss and the openers proved the decision right. The opening duo of KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock scored 210 runs together in 20 overs without getting out. While QDK remained unbeaten for 140 runs off 70 deliveries, KLR played 2nd fiddle to him with 68 runs off 51 deliveries.

Chasing the total, Kolkata Knight Riders remained on the attack throughout despite losing the wicket at regular intervals. The game looked done and dusted when Andre Russell got out but Rinku Singh had different ideas in his mind. The left-handed batter 40 runs off 15 deliveries to almost win the game for his team.

Evin Lewis produced an outrageous moment of brilliance to send Rinku Singh back

With Rinku Singh batting, Kolkata Knight Riders required 21 runs off the final over. The Aussie all-rounder Marcus Stoinis came to bowl but Singh smashed him for a boundary, followed by two consecutive maximums.

Rinku Singh ran a double on the fourth delivery to bring the equation down to 3 runs required off the final two deliveries. The game looked over for Lucknow Super Giants but on the fifth delivery, Evin Lewis produced a magical moment.

Marcus Stoinis delivered a slower and wider delivery; Rinku was looking to go over extra cover and ended up slicing it a bit. For a while, seemed like it would land between the two fielders but Evin Lewis from the deep backward point ran across and stretched out his left hand. The ball got stuck in his hand and Rinku Singh has to walk back to the hut.
