Remember the name Ayush Badoni – a new star in the IPL has emerged. The 22-year old Ayush Badoni once again took the limelight as the youngster smashed a beautiful six off Shardul Thakur to clinch the thriller in the last over against Delhi Capitals.

Lucknow Super Giants were chasing a total of 150 runs against Delhi Capitals. After a brilliant start, LSG slipped towards the end and found themselves in a spot of bother needing 5 runs off 5 deliveries. Entered Badoni in the middle but failed to connect his first delivery. With LSG requiring 5 runs off 4 deliveries, Ayush Badoni smashed a four and a beautiful six over the covers to finish it off in style.

Lucknow Super Giants completed the hat-trick of wins courtesy of a breezy cameo of 10 runs off 3 balls from Badoni. The youngster has impressed one and all with his unique ability to perform under pressure. Badoni was roped in by the Super Giants at his base price of Rs 20 lakh at the IPL mega auctions.

Since his debut, Ayush Badoni has emerged as one the most consistent players in the LSG outfit. Badoni scored a stunning knock of 41-ball 54 on his debut match against Gujarat Titans. He followed the fifty with another gutsy display of batting in the nervy chase against Chennai Super Kings.

In the IPL 2022, Ayush Badoni has scored a total of 102 runs in 4 matches so far at a strike rate of 156.92.

Even the skipper KL Rahul was impressed by the exploits of the youngster and praised him in the post-match presentation.

“He (Ayush Badoni) has held his nerve every time he has gone into bat and he’s delivered for us under pressure. Great learning for him, important for him to keep working hard,” quipped Rahul after their victory over Delhi Capitals.

Lucknow Super Giants have reached 2nd place in the points table with 3 wins in 4 games. They will now face Rajasthan Royals in their next game and will look to extend their winning run.
