Former Indian captain Virat Kohli is currently part of the ongoing Test series against Sri Lanka. The run-machine’s 71st international century drought continues after he failed to make an impact in the first and second Test.

During the first Test, he scored 45 runs in the first innings but at the same time, he completed 8000 runs in Test cricket. However, a lot was expected of Kohli to deliver the goods in the pink-ball Test match at his favourite stadium, M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

His last international century also came in a pink-ball Test against Bangladesh back in 2019. When the fans expected the former Indian skipper to convert the opportunity into a hundred, Kohli was far from being impressive.

The 33-year-old scored 23 and 13 in the first and second innings of the second Test. India posted 252 in the first innings, thanks to Shreyas Iyer’s 92. The right-handed batsman piled up his innings with the help of 10 boundaries and 4 hits over the fence. Sri Lanka were all out for a paltry total of 109 in the first innings.
