“There is something going on between CSK and Rayudu” – Twitter reacts as CSK drop Ambati Rayudu against Gujarat Titans after the retirement saga
Adding a new chapter to the CSK-Rayudu retirement saga, Chennai Super Kings have dropped Ambati Rayudu from the playing XI against Gujarat Titans. It comes just a day after Rayudu’s controversial retirement fiasco.
On Sunday, Gujarat Titans are up against Chennai Super Kings in the 62nd match of the IPL 2022 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. CSK’s skipper MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat first. On the toss, he also revealed that four senior players, including Ambati Rayudu, Robin Uthappa, Dwayne Bravo, and Maheesh Theekshana have made a way for the youngsters in the playing 11. Ambati Rayudu’s exclusion from the playing XI grabbed everyone’s attention as he is dropped the very next day after his retirement controversy.
For the unversed, Ambati Rayudu posted a tweet on Saturday afternoon announcing his retirement from the IPL after the ongoing season and thanked Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians.
“I am happy to announce that this will be my last IPL. I have had a wonderful time playing it and being a part of 2 great teams for 13 years. Would love to sincerely thank Mumbai Indians and CSK for the wonderful journey,” Rayudu had posted.
However, Rayudu deleted the tweet minutes later and the CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan had to come ahead clarifying the matter. While the cricketing fraternity was confused, the CEO said that Rayudu hasn’t retired and he will continue to represent CSK.
“I can confirm that Ambati Rayudu is not retiring from IPL. Yes, he did tweet about it. Maybe it was in an emotional state he tweeted. He has been spoken to and subsequently deleted the tweet,” CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan told PTI.
All is not well between CSK and Ambati Rayudu
Just a few days after rift rumours with Ravindra Jadeja, it is 2nd big controversy coming out of the Chennai camp. Now CSK have dropped Rayudu and it has further added the fuel to fire as the fans feel that everything is not well between the right-handed batter and the four-time champions.
